~S~para15, yeah, it was fun Friday. I look forward to seeing you Sunday. Mission starts at 16:00 GMT, but try to be there at least an hour early. Have you checked out CFO yet? It is very important to know how to use it. here's a basic primmer, when you enter the Game, Gear Down...make sure it's 100% down Throttle Back to 0% press the Alt Key press the C key press the G key press the A key the Advanced Scenery window will pop up Select the airfield that you have been instructed to go to Let's say Hawkinge Say on Comm, "para15, CFOing to Hawkinge wait a few seconds, in case the runway is not clear press the Enter key If other pilots are also CFOing to Hawkinge, start your engine, use full left rudder and slowly throttle up you will make a 90* left turn throttle back and release the rudder as your turn reaches 90* taxi off the runway until you are clear rudder hard right and continue to taxi parallel to the runway when you are about halfway down, stop Call on Comm, "Hawkinge Runway Clear" hard right rudder, throttle up just enough to pivot 90* and stop Set parking brake and wait for orders to take off. when given, release parking brake, throttle up and slowly move onto the Runway when you reach the center, stop, hard left rudder and throttle up to pivot 90* left slowly throttle up and take off when airborne, call "para15 airborne, gear up" Whew... If no other pilots are CFOing to Hawkinge, just sit on the runway and wait for orders to take off. That is how it is suppose to go, but it doesn't always work that way. Don't worry about it, just do your best and have some fun. Remember, we fly Stock Aircraft, most of us at 100% Realism No Tags, No Cones, All Fun!
Remember, when taxiing, take it slow and when you brake do it gently many of the Aircraft will nose over if you brake to hard especially the Hurricane

Hi All I've been playing CFS1 for quite a long time now (even though Im not much good at it ). I came across your community last week when I wa searching for CFS1 communities who still carry out online gaming. Well so I have registered in the forum and in a while I'll start downloading the essentials. Can some one let me know how the enlistment procedure is supposed to go on from there? Thanks -QuanChi

~S~ QC....Download and install TeamSpeak, CFO Weather, and the Head to Head programs first. Then stop by our Teamspeak Channel. There is usually somebody around that will help you test everything out. We fly informally alot...especially around the evening hours. Once everything is in and working, all you need to do is come by our Mission...every Sunday at 1200 hrs EDT. We all meet on TeamSpeak beginning an hour before Mission time...~S~

~S~ All, Hey guys, had a great flight (and some great crashes ) with you guys yesterday. Unfortunately there was a power outage and I was disconnected half way through. Yesterdays flight was my first time on a multiplayer game of CFS and it got me thinking on a few things; I do very bad on an advanced flight model, I totally lose control over the flight when Im flying slow. So hope to brush up on those things and catch up with all ya See yA Quan.

hello Quan, I had a power outage today also. I hope that nothing was damaged. Sorry I missed you today, next time for sure. The 100% Hard Flight Model is a little tougher, but give it time and most importantly, Relax. Lighten up on the stick as much as you can. Flying slow is probably the hardest thing to do well. Don't get discouraged and just put the hammer down. And don't forget to Have Fun!

~S~ Quan,
I do not know if anyone told you, but we practice almost every day. You can keep checking on Team Speak as there is no real set time. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at about 6:30 pm Eastern time, we meet up and go to the 45th and fly with them.
Hope to see you again soon,
Johnny

~S~ all Smilo: Luckily Im on a laptop, so nothing much to be afraid. Hope everything was ok on your side. Johnny: Yeah I saw the postings on several places that practices occur almost everyday. Thanks for the info though I just figured that I'll fly by my self a few times to get into a decent situation and then join you guys in the evenings Unfortunately for me I dont have a joystick (yes I know what you guys are going to say, 'every self respecting aviator should have a joy stick but its cost is a bit too much for me) so its a bit hard to control the aircraft with just the keyboard. Im experimenting with sensitivity settings to see what suits best. Hope to join the sessions soon. Quan. P:S: I might decide to change my name to 'KJ', lets see...

~S~ quanchi
I know all too well the joys and discomforts of flying with only a keyboard, and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.
( A little butchering of the FFA Creed, thank you E.M. Tiffany )
The important point is that you are welcome to come as you are.
I hope to see you in the air.

hello Quan, my tidbit of advice would be, if a new stick is to spendy for you, go to Goodwill or the other thrift stores. you will be amazed at what you can find for very little money. $5 got me a Sidewinder Precision Pro and I have seen the force feedback units at near the same price. Just make sure the one you buy has a USB connector and can also twist for rudder. If and when you decide to change your callsign, just send me a PM and I will take care of it for you. BTW, don't tell me you are in Washington.

~S~ All Thanks everybody for the advice. Minuteman, what you said was totally true, even with the enemy level very high in single combat, I managed to stay without being shotdown for at least 15 mins (which is much more than how I did at the online session ). I'll try my best to join the practice sessions. Smilo: Yeah lets see what we can do And no Im not in Washington; im actually on the other side of world from washington, Sri Lanka I do have some friends abroad who are very techy/gaming, so they might be able to help me get a cheap but good joystick. See ya guys later!
