~S~Frankydog, I saw you on TS earlier today, but I could not hear you. Were you able to hear me?
I see you have met 1100. he is our Training Officer, a heck of a pilot and a good man. you are in good hands.

To 1100 and Smilo. Thankyou for the welcome. Am looking forward to TRAINING. From the fright I got from 1100, I reckon I need it.Time zones and work/home commitments may get in the way, but I shall endeavour to do what I can. I was thrilled to pieces to actually fly against a real person AND actually have a conversation with him!! As a result, I shall be investigating a replacement for my headset. ( even the wife had trouble with it ). Any suggestions?? as to a suitable device. Thanks heaps, Frankydog

~S~Frankydog, I am glad that you had a good time. It is just the beginning for you. I have asked 1100 to go easy on the Recruits, but sometimes he forgets and he gets a little carried away. He meant no harm. He is our best pilot. The time differential may be a problem, but I am sure that we can find a way to get you involved. If not in our Sunday Missions, at least our informal get togethers on Saturdays. Keep checking TeamSpeak, you never know who you will find there. Headset, many options, many price ranges. One of our pilots uses one that he made out of used parts. I have one that I bought for $15 US a year ago. It plugs into the sound card mini jacks, one for the mic, the other for the input. It works fine, although I now use it as a backup. I now use an EXSOUND 5.1 Surround Sound headset with mic. SWEET!!! It actually has 3 speakers in each ear cup. All digital, very nice rich sound, but spendy at $100 US. It has a USB connector and a small external control box. Anyway, you have many options, but remember, you, usually, get what you pay for. I hope to see you in the air soon. Regards

~S~ FrankyDog...Welcome to the group! I just bought a CyberAcoustic headset w/ mic for $40 US. Had the same set for 2 years before my puppy chewed the wire in half without any problems....

Righty ho!! here you go!! I have solved my headset problem...call me whatever you wish but not late for dinner or a beer. The problem was the mute switch. I had it set in the wrong position. I have since tested it on Skyferret (S) and the amazing Capt. 1100. It is now operational.. hee hee hee

Good to know Frankydog. So that you don't feel alone, Minuteman had the exact same "malfunction" not so long ago.
