I remember Trapper making a request for a set of ground targets to practice strafing on, and have a proposition that I think goes one further.
Why not just get a few pilots together, two at least, and have one in a ground vehicle, the other airborne.
Some sort of a rotation between being the shooter and the pigeon would of course be appropriate. And there may/may not be return fire from the pilot on the ground, depending on circumstances.
I'm really only talking gun practice here, for both those on the ground and in the air. Anybody can practice rockets alone, but it is a bit more of a challenge to get a lot of good strafing in.
Not to supersede you 1100, but if anyone is interested, lets see if we can't give it a go at least once or twice.

Using 2 machines, I like to set one up as Host and place the AA Tank under the Eiffel Tower. With the other machine, I Join and fly my 190 in tight Figure 8's, diving in on the Tank, Firing, and then climbing out, while turning to make another pass. If I collide with the Tank, I quickly put it back in place using CFO Select Flight. I have the position pre saved with CFO Save Flight. practice, practice, practice

Ridgerunner Sir,
I may be a newbie to the squad, but would be proud to sit in an AA Tank for your straffing practice. In fact, I would prefer it. It allows me to practice my TG2 gunnery as a Bomber Pilot. Let me know, and I would be happy to meet up with you.

Well today, history it seems is repeating it self within cfs . Over the many years I have been in cfs I have found that the best at TG2 are 2 pilots we have here . Both who fly in the AAC they are BBoll and Sbandit . You get them behind a TG2 B17 gunsite and they cannot be shotdown in multiplayer. On a 1 on 1 game they unbeatable .
Go for it Baddog . ~S~

~S~All, Word has it that sBandit may return soon, after several months Family Leave. BasketBoll was seen today and last Sunday, flying a 109g. Ridge was on Family Leave this weekend, but I believe he has returned. Either that, or someone else was at the SOH as P&W. I would bet that a few Strafing Runs could be arranged sometime this week in the evening.

You are most likely correct sir, I have returned. My evenings should be relatively free and clear. However, there will likely be plenty of celebrating for St. Pat's, particularly after Thursday.
But if any of you all would like to set up some time I'd like to try and get started.
I could also have some slots of time during the afternoons too, depending on class.
baddog, just give me a holler. I was actually looking forward to some ground time myself, but believe me, I need to practice both.
The idea is to actually learn 4 things.
1) Strafing ground targets with gunfire
2) Operating a TG2 gun from the ground
3) Be an evasive ground target while returning accurate fire.
4) To have a fun time while doing it.

LOL I just read the bottom of your post,
"The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and, a good bowel movement."
You forgot to add.........'and being awake through all three!'
LMAO

Thanks Trapper. I had no idea there was a get-together happening last night. Because of personal scheduling, I don't have the luxury of just 'seeing' if someone is flying each night. I usually need to schedule the time into my day or evening. Sorry I missed out. Sounds like you had fun. And yes, there is a lot to be said about the 109g.

~S~ BD...there is alot of informal gathering during the week...everyones' schedules vary widely...so we gather when we can. 1100 also runs scheduled Training Sessions. Fridays and Saturdays(evenings) seem to be becoming frequent gathering times. If you are looking to get in the air, stop by our TS Channel...chances are that you can find a flight....and we'll see if we can't put those bomber skills to work!!!!
