~S~ Ask your questions about my tutorial here. Depending on their pertinence, I will answer here or in the tutorial thread. Don't be shy; I, too, had many once... well, in fact, I still have many...

I sure wish I had a laptop. this past weekend would have been a perfect time to try this out.... lots of time sitting around with nothing to do. oh well, so it goes. anyway, it has been so long since I have used AF99, I seem to have forgotten how to Produce. when I hit the Produce button, I get the; "Before trying to produce this project in AF99, run AF99 Project Wizard and specify this project." I run the Wizard, follow the steps and when I click on the Produce button, I get the same message, again and again. I vaguely recall this happening a few years back, but can remember how to get past it.

well, I tried it again and it worked. don't ask how or what I did different, I don't have a clue.

Just create a project, put something in it (or not) and hit "produce". You must load your project before producing.
Quite frankly, using the "wizard" was more a pain in the a** at first for me. I have erased some of my work this way.
Or copy n' paste my own in the tutorial.

after several futile attempts yesterday, I finally gave up. today while driving, I gave it much consideration in an attempt to figure out what went wrong. when I got home, I tried again and now have a tiny little locomotive sitting on the runway at Ripe. hopefully, I will be able to find the time to write down the solution to the problem. all I really need to do is try to remember what I did.

A tiny little locomotive is all I was expecting! Great! ... well ... sorta great ... you know what I mean?

yes, I think I do; it is great that I was successful, sort of... my I quote the last line of the Tutorial? "Next time; scaling our project."

well, my lack of patience got the better of me. I had to go find SetScale and play a little. getting the loco gnats a$$ on, size wise, was tricky and not as accurate as I would like, but it is close at 13. I have noticed that the tracks are scaled for one size, while the cars and other objects are scaled for another. it's always something, isn't it?

Patience smilo!
I have to prepare next week goodies, then I'll be back on the tutorial.
In the meantime, a bit of self-exploration shouldn't hurt... I guess ;-)

Having completed the tutorial, I realize that I didn't say a word about collision bubble. Anyway... this is hex-editing stuff, something feared by so much If anyone cares, just say so here.
