With 1100 permission, I will hold little "seminars" on the art of CFOing, take-offs and landings.
We have noticed that it is a source of delay in games and, with all the other glitches, we think that some practice are in order to, at least, reduce these delays to a minimum.
Depending on your needs, we will study and practice;
- CFOing procedures;
- T/O in a single a/c;
- T/O in a formation of more than one a/c;
- Approach for landing;
- Specifics of each stock a/c;
- Touch n' go practice;
- Wheel (two points) landing;
- Three points landing;
- Dead stick landing;
- Emergency belly landing;
- Emergency on partially extended gears;
- Emergency on damaged a/c;
- Importance of wind in a landing;
- Night T/O and landings;
- Rolling (taxiing) and coming to a full stop.
The session would be limited to the aircraft and situations pilots usually have problem(s) with. No reasons to repair what's ain't broken?
AAC_Ripe is especially equipped with three-colors VASI, "flare zones", and "decision point markers" for that purpose. It can also be used for night practice as well.
You will need to have an aircraft equipped with radio COM1 at least to use the three-color VASI. smilo and I could give you the necessary panels if you don't have one. Just tell us in advance.
I will accept only 4 pilots at a time (I'm on dial-up), but I will go even if only one is interested. Saturdays morning are my best bet for these sessions but, if you have special needs, I will try to be as flexible as much as possible.
I know that many otherwise good pilots are rotten when it comes to landings. This is probably due to that dreaded "X" key in Missions and Campaigns modes.
So, don't be shy and post here with your AAC_handle, your specifics demands, and your availability for training.
I can't promise you will never crash again (in fact, I can't even promise
I will never crash!
) but your percentage of successful take-offs and landings should improve.
