greetings All,
here's a little web site status update;
today, i started updating the AAC web site
and quickly found that i had irreparably
screwed up the opening page.
needless to say, i am less than ecstatic.
besides making changes to the opening page,
which are not correctable,
i can no longer edit link colors,
there are no longer attachments,
which are the pictures and logos,
and we are now limited to 10 pages,
unless we want to pay,
which i do not.
apparently, the web site host,
FreeWebs has changed to WEBS
and has changed their system.
the main problem is, simply,
our page template no longer exists.
i have tried to modify our Template,
but stopped when a pop-up said,
Warning; that our template is not compatible
and i will not be able to return to the old one.
i immediately backed off,
concerned that we would lose what we have.
so, what to do?
1) i can try to back up all of the site data,
then, modify the template and hope it works.
2) start a whole new web site from scratch
and use the data from the old one,
then, when finished, delete the old one.
3) leave the site as it is
and try to make due with what we have.
for now, i am leaning towards
leaving it as it is
and giving it some thought.
for one, i don't like the idea of
cutting from 15 pages to 10,
but i'm sure i can consolidate.
i think i'll start by copying the pages to my machine.
dang!!! this is going to be fun.
