~S~All pilots!
This document was developed by staff members in order to offer a basic set of rules for our games. It was adopted unanimously by members forming quorum before our Sunday game .
The main idea here is to simplify pre-game briefings; only specifics rules would have to be explained when they modify the General Rules of Engagement (GRofE).
Remember that these are general rules and can be modified for specific events.
Unless specific orders to the contrary, the following rules should apply during any AAC game.
Aircraft
Only stock aircraft are permitted, with the exception of mission specific authorized aircraft. DP files can only be modified as to adjust and synchronize guns. AIR files should not be modified unless approval of AAC technical officer. Textures should not be modified as to give a player an unfair advantage during games.
Visual aids
No Aircraft Labels (N key), also known as "tags". No Enemy Indicator (U key). also known as "green cone". Tactical display is OK (F9 key).
Vehicles or buildings deemed to have in-board radars will have permission to use tags. They can inform by radio their teammates, airborne or not, of friend and foes' movements. These vehicles and buildings must be declared in the pre-game briefing as having on-board radar.
Weather and Time
Weather and Time are set in game once all aircraft are on the ground before game start and applies to all players.
Players joining late or having to re-connect must ask Time and Weather conditions and apply them before engaging in game.
Start of the game
All aircraft must start on the ground, CFOing or landing. Game start when the "GO GO GO" message is given by the leader of the game.
Players joining late must land or CFO at a designated place before engaging in game.
Death
A player is dead when he is shot down or destroyed. This includes mid-air collisions and accidental crashes after initial take-off. Ejection or emergency landing over sea or enemy territory is assimilated to death. A successful emergency landing, in friendly territory, is not a death when a pilot brings his aircraft to a full stop. He may return to the ready room, refresh and reenter the game without penalty.
An emergency landing on water or in enemy territory will incur a 5 minutes penalty, but will deprive the opponent of a kill.
An emergency landing is any landing from which you can’t take-off again without refueling or returning to the Ready Room.
A dead player must return immediately to the Ready Room and wait there for a full five minutes of penalty. He is responsible for keeping his own time on a gentleman’s honor system.
Disconnection
A player who gets disconnected may re-enter the game without penalty.
Bombers collision
A bomber can re-enter the game without penalty if he was the victim of a mid-air collision with an enemy aircraft before dropping its bombs. If the collision happens after dropping his bombs, the bomber is considered to have returned safely home, but he can still reenter if he so wishes at the approximate coordinates he was collided with, forfeiting his safe return.
Re-entering the game
A player re-entering the game should ask his team leader where he should go. He can CFO to any friendly base. He can rejoin his flight, as long as his flight is not in contact with the enemy, depending on the situation. No player should re-enter the game from an enemy field. No player should re-enter the game as to be immediately in contact with the enemy in flight.
Respawn area is a neutral / no-contact area!!!
Glitches
A player that is invisible to any other players should not engage the enemy and return to the Ready Room. If he can correct the situation, he may re-enter with no penalty.
Collisions due to CFOing are not subject to penalty. However, repeated collisions due to technical issues may result in the player being asked to removed himself from the session. Players expecting technical difficulties should show one hour earlier to attempt to iron-out those problems.
Double entry for the same pilot in the ready room should be disregarded. The player may choose to restart from scratch or stay in game. NOTA: experimentation still necessary to verify real impact of double entry glitch.
IP address
It is the responsibility of each player to note the IP address of the game and of TS once given and to connect to the game.
End of the game
The game ends when the leader of the game says so.
Critiques, detrimental comments, derogatory remarks, foul language, or accusation of cheating
Any criticism of an individual, detrimental comments, foul language, or cheating accusations during the game should go through the chain of command. No gossiping on open channels will be tolerated. Non-members will simply be booted. A member may be submitted to a disciplinary hearing as provided in our Charter.
Post-game debriefing is where critiques and comments should be made. Cheating accusations should go through CoC.
CONCLUSIONS
These generals rules are subject to specifics rules of the game on the day and should only apply in the absence of any rule to the contrary.
When in doubt, a player should apply the General Rules of Engagement until he is informed of a specific rule to the contrary.
We gather in CFS1 games to have fun. So have fun.
