~S~ All, A few months ago I asked Hubba if it was possible to modify the flight parameters of the Axis fighters to better approximate the true performance. I understand that it's a complicated job. However, I wonder if it's possible to equip all Axis fighters or, at least the FW & 109 with an Allied flight model taken directly , for example, from the Spit Mk 9.? If the FW & 109 performed exactly like their opponents, the fighter v fighter dogfights would be much more evenly matched. At the same time, a pilot would still appear to be flying the fighter of his choice. I assume that damage effects and engine sounds could be retained as the original and only the flight performance would be evenly matched. Limy
Just wondering

Limy Just wondering It is a long process and, as an interim measure, we should do as you say Limy. I will prepare the following AIR files to "even things up" a bit; - Bf-109 will share Spit MkI AIR file; - Fw 190a will share Spit MkIX AIR file. I will only modify the AIR files so that they describe the right aircraft and stand correctly on the ground. I will send to all by emails, using my mailing list and MM list. As a precautionary measure, I will include a backup copy of the original AIR file. I repeat that this is only a temporary measure. But considering the task at hand, it may be enforced for quite a while. Any objections? Regards, Hubbabubba

~S~All This is it. In the Temp AIR.zip file are the two modified Bf-109E and Fw-190A. Unzip and place in the appropriate aircraft folder. DO MAKE BACKUPS OF THE ORIGINALS AIR FILE!!!I will also send this file by Email. Until further notice, these airfiles will be used in our games. Attachments:

~S~ All, Thanks to Hubba for the work. It will be interesting to see if there are any objections and, in fact, how effective the mods are. Hope it will make the interceptions less predictable. Limy

~S~
During last event, "Meet the Fleet", the swapped AIR file played its role, at least for me. Charged like mules, the Fw190A was tricky on T/O and at some disadvantage until it had released bombs and rockets.
But it was way more nimble in dogfighting!
The shallow diving speed left to be desired; I was caught more than once from behind while attacking the flat-top.
In that tactical situation, I think that the "old" airfile is more appropriate... if you have no intentions of staying there after spitting your venom. Otherwise, the new airfile offers more challenge to the Allies.

~S~ all
Suggestion: AAC have two versions of FW-190 FW-190 A with new air.file FW-190 A8 with old air.file
Depending of mission type up to pilot to select version....
