wow, has it really been 5 years?
alliedaircorps.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=xo&action=display&thread=439time flies when you're having fun.
or getting old....so it goes.
way back when, the majority of the a20 parts were roughly built.
but, the sequence coding for cfs models was not done
and the accessory parts, like air scoops and such, were not built,
as were the fine details, like the joints for wings to fuselage,
horizontal and vertical stabilizers to fuselage,
inner and outer wings to nacelles, etc.
on the bright side, most of the animations are roughed out,
props, spinners, gear, doors, rudder, elevator, flaps and ailerons.
as i recall, there was a problem getting the spoiler to work.
which, i plan on using for the bomb bay doors.
i'm sure, in time, that will be taken care of.
also, the sequence coding for these parts is not done yet.
then, there is the potential for building many different models.
there are the solid or with a plexiglas nose variants
and models with or without a turret.
the original plan was for a 'glas nose without turret,
but, that could easily change.
so, you get the idea. there's a lot to do.
needless to say, this thing is far from paint ready.
and i haven't even mentioned the interior.
where does the a20 currently stand?
upon reopening the project,
i started with the inner and outer wing to nacelle joints,
rebuilding the nacelle and adding the carburetor and oil cooler scoops.
then, the carb scoop to wing and wing to nacelle sequence coding.
when that's done, i will add the prop and spinner,
and go to work on the main gear and gear doors,
along with all the associated animation coding.
stating the obvious, this is tedious, time consuming work,
but i believe, in the long run, it will be worth the effort.
fortunately, when completed, i will be able to mirror
the nacelle assembly to the other side, saving a lot of time.
stay tuned, i will post some pics, when the nacelle is done.
